R. 7968 To amend the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 to provide for the establishment of a Critical Supply Chain Site Development grant program, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES April 11, 2024 Mr. Sorensen (for himself, Mrs. Miller-Meeks, Mr. Allred, and Mrs. Kiggans of Virginia) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in addition to the Committee on Financial Services, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To amend the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 to provide for the establishment of a Critical Supply Chain Site Development grant program, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Opportunities for Non-developed Sites to Have Opportunities to be Rehabilitated for Economic development Act of 2024'' or the ``ONSHORE Act of 2024''. SEC. 2. FINDINGS. Section 2(a) of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 (42 U.S.C. 3121(a)) is amended-- (1) in paragraph (5), by striking ``and'' at the end; (2) in paragraph (6), by striking the period at the end and inserting ``; and''; and (3) by adding at the end the following: ``(7) economic development in Tribal nations, States, cities, and rural areas of the United States can be best promoted by assisting communities and regions in developing and implementing cluster-based regional economic and innovation strategies t
