Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Protecting American Autoworkers from China Act of 2024''. SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS. In this Act: (1) Control.--The term ``control'' has the meaning given that term in section 800.208 of title 31, Code of Federal Regulations (as in effect on the date of the enactment of this Act). (2) GATT 1947.--The term ``GATT 1947'' has the meaning given that term in section 2 of the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (19 U.S.C. 3501). (3) HTS.--The term ``HTS'' means the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. (4) Schedule of concessions.--The term ``Schedule of Concessions'' has the meaning given the term ``Schedule XX'' in section 2 of the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (19 U.S.C. 3501). SEC. 3. INCREASE OF DUTY ON AUTOS ORIGINATING IN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA. (a) In General.--Effective on the date of the enactment of this Act, heading 8703 of the HTS shall be applied and administered with respect to imports originating in the People's Republic of China-- (1) in the column 1 general rate of duty column, by substituting ``100%'' for the rate of duty otherwis
