Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Department of War Restoration Act of 2025''. SEC. 2. REDESIGNATION OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AS DEPARTMENT OF WAR. (a) Department of War.--The Department of Defense is hereby redesignated the Department of War. (b) Secretary of War.--The head of the Department of War, as redesignated by subsection (a), is the Secretary of War. (c) References.--Any reference to the Department of Defense or the Secretary of Defense in any law, rule regulation, certificate, directive, instruction, or other offi-cial paper in force on the date of enactment of this Act shall be considered to refer and apply to the Department of War and the Secretary of War, respectively. <all>
