Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Sustainable Agriculture Research Act''. SEC. 2. ADDITIONAL GOAL OF AGARDA TO ENHANCE ROLE OF AGRICULTURE IN INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABILITY SOLUTIONS. Section 1473H of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 (7 U.S.C. 3319k) is amended-- (1) in subsection (a), by adding at the end the following: ``(8) Precision agriculture.--The term `precision agriculture' means managing, tracking, or reducing crop or livestock production inputs (including seed, feed, fertilizer, chemicals, water, and time) at a heightened level of spatial and temporal granularity to improve efficiencies, reduce waste, and maintain environmental quality.''; and (2) in subsection (b)(2)-- (A) in subparagraph (C), by striking ``and'' at the end; (B) by redesignating subparagraph (D) as subparagraph (E)
