Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Transatlantic Academic Security and Risk Mitigation Act''. SEC. 2. STRATEGY. (a) Strategy Required.--Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a strategy regarding covered European institutions that maintain academic, financial, research, governance, programmatic, data-sharing, or other relevant direct or indirect relationships with covered entities of concern. Such strategy shall also include each of the following: (1) The manner in which the Department of State will identify, evaluate, and mitigate the relationships that pose a risk to United States foreign policy interests between European institutions and covered entities of concern.
