[Congressional Bills 119th Congress] [From the U.S. Government Publishing Office] [H.R. 6540 Introduced in House (IH)] <DOC> 119th CONGRESS 1st Session H. R. 6540 To request the designation of an Anti-Communism Week, and for other purposes. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES December 9, 2025 Ms. Salazar (for herself, Mr. Hurd of Colorado, Ms. Tenney, Mr. Webster of Florida, Mr. Ogles, Mr. Smith of New Jersey, Mr. Buchanan, Mr. Gimenez, Mr. Bilirakis, Mr. Bacon, Mr. Aderholt, Mr. McDowell, Mr. Haridopolos, and Mr. Hunt) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To request the designation of an Anti-Communism Week, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Anti-Communism Week Act''. SEC. 2. DESIGNATION OF ANTI-COMMUNISM WEEK. (a) Findings.--Congress finds the following: (1) Anti-Communism Week is a solemn remembrance of the devastation caused by one of history's most destructive ideologies. (2) Across continents and generations, communism has wrought devastation upon nations and souls. (3) More than 100,000,000 lives have been taken by regimes that sought to erase faith, suppress freedom, and destroy prosperity earned through hard work, violating the God-given rights and dignity of those they oppressed. (4) Honoring the memory of those lives renews the promise of the United States to stand firm against communism, to uphold the cause of liberty and human worth, and to affirm once more that no system of government can ever replace the will and conscience of a free people. (5) For more than a century, communism has brought nothing but ruin, silencing dissent, punishing beliefs, and demanding that generations kneel before
