Let Voters Elect IURC Commissioners
Right now, the governor picks all five members of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission — the body that decides how much your electric bill costs and whether utility companies can raise rates. This bill would let voters elect those commissioners instead, with one from each region of the state. The idea: if commissioners answer to voters instead of the governor, they might push harder for lower rates.
