Veterans with ALS Reporting Act

R. 6001 To require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit a report on risk reduction strategies to lower the incidence and prevalence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in veterans. _______________________________________________________________________ IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES November 10, 2025 Mr. Crow (for himself, Mr. Calvert, Ms. Sewell, and Mr. Fitzpatrick) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs _______________________________________________________________________ A BILL To require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit a report on risk reduction strategies to lower the incidence and prevalence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in veterans. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Veterans with ALS Reporting Act''. SEC. 2. REPORT ON AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS IN VETERANS. (a) In General.--Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, in consultation with the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shall submit to Congress a report on the incidence and prevalence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (commonly known as ``ALS''). Such report shall include-- (1) an assessment of the incidence and prevalence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in veterans (as defined in section 101 of title 38, United States Code); (2) a description of the resources and support that the the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Veterans Affairs provides to veterans with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; (3) a description of any deficiencies in the resources and support described in paragraph (2); (4) a strategy to develop and test risk reduction strategies inte
